What do you need to do to change how you think about money, abundance, and magic? How much can come to you through education?

I love to read. I also love to take courses. I just can't seem to go very long without taking another one.

But the first book I read and the first course I took that really helped me get more aware of my financial numbers was The Art of Money by Bari Tessler. It's also a course that you can take. I took it six years ago, and I am still meeting with the women that I met in that course in a mastermind that we do once a quarter.

It's really amazing how far each one of us have come with our financial awareness, our ability and willingness to look at our numbers, and our ability increase our money and abundance.

For instance, one of my friends in the mastermind is now in Italy where her daughter lives and where she and her husband are buying an apartment. They live in New York state, but they're buying an apartment to be close to their daughter and their new grandchildren.

My friend got to know what her numbers were and was very diligent in getting help to do that. That’s an important part of knowing your numbers.

If you need help, it's really okay to get it.

My friend and her husband are able to buy a second home because of her efforts to find out where they stood financially. That all came out of studying with Bari Tessler and doing the work of knowing her numbers.

Bari Tessler is a body-centered therapist and a bookkeeper. She realized that she was not able to pay her rent with the salary she was getting as a counselor at a publicly-funded counseling center.

So she started doing bookkeeping for other people and and got really good at it. She realized that she could combine her interest in psychological healing with money. That's what the book and the course are about - healing your past with money and getting to know where you stand with your money and your priorities for it.

This book is really great for couples to learn to learn how to talk to your mate about money because that's really often a sticking point in a couple's relationship. We all have feelings about money, we have history about money, and we may have some wounds about money and abundance.

You may think, “I don't deserve that much” or “I didn’t have that much growing up. I don't know how to make more.”

I just heard a story about this that just really touched my heart.

In Winston-Salem and in Raleigh, North Carolina there is a volunteer organization called called Green Nest. The organization collects nice furniture, bathroom and kitchen items and beds for people who are moving from being homeless to having a place to live.

One of their clients was a man who sat there looking at all the beautiful things that the volunteers had curated for their clients. And that's the point of Green Nest - to give them nice things to furnish their new home and to raise their awareness that abundance is available.

This man said to the volunteers, “I can't have any of these things. Where are the things that I can have?” They assured him this is where he would get to shop for things for his new home.

Is there something that you could breakthrough to thinking you could have that seemed impossible yesterday? Like a nice apartment in Italy? You may not want that but something equivalent.

Increasing your money and abundance mindset is a crucial step in living a more abundant life - with money, love, health, and career.

We have to talk about money because in this world we deal with money all the time. It's a necessity. We don't trade pigs and cows and chickens anymore for our rent and mortgage. We actually have to pay it.

My encouragement to you is, if this Art of Money book or course appeals to you, look into it. My takeaway from the book and the course is you can actually get to know your numbers, get comfortable with them, and you will see benefits in many areas of your life.
